SNU Student Ambassadors
Since its establishment in 2005, 260 students have participated as members of the SSA. Members must work as 'acting members" for at least two semesters. After participating for this term, acting members become 'alumni" as new members are recruited. However, it is also possible to participate as acting members for additional semesters. Currently, 29 students in cycle 23~26 are working as acting members. (2018 Fall semester)
Among acting members, there is a council that consists of the President and 6 student officers who each has a distinct duty on the management of SSA.
President
The President is responsible for the overall supervision of various activities of SSA that require the presence and assistance of the Student Ambassadors. Along with the rest of the managers, the President proposes the main subject of discussion for each session, manages the workload of the group as a whole, and devises reports to the Office of International Affairs(OIA) that summarize the monthly activities of SNU Student Ambassadors.
Vice President/Recruiting Manager
The Vice President (VP) works as the Recruiting Manager (RM). RM is in charge of recruiting new ambassadors. RM introduces SSA to applicants and leads the recruiting interview. All members of SSA and RM do their best to recruit suitable members of SSA. VP acts as an accountant of SSA after the selection of new members. He/she prepares and examines financial records of SSA. VP makes sure records are accurate so as to help SSA run efficiently.
Protocol Manager
The Protocol Manager (PM) is mainly responsible for administering Seoul National University campus tours for foreign guests. PM acts as a bridge between international guests and SSA members as he/she reviews campus tour requests and assigns members of SNU Student Ambassadors to each tour.
Alumni Manager
The Alumni Manager (AM) updates and manages all acting members' and alumni's contacts. AM is responsible for assigning people to tasks when contacting SSA alumni members and informing them about the upcoming homecoming and welcoming events. In addition, AM is also in charge of ordering the magnetic name badges for the newly recruited ambassadors.
Event Manager
The Event Manager(EM) organizes various events of SSA. To help new members adjust to SSA easily, numerous events are prepared by EM. Additionally, there is a big event called 'Welcoming Reception'. It is a party inviting all members of SSA and introducing new members to the alumni. In addition, EM plans the 'staff retreat' every semester, which requires booking places and preparing different activities for the event.
Session Manager
The Session Manager (SM) is an overall director of the weekly sessions of SSA held every Thursday. SM discusses each week's agendas with the presidents in advance to organize the session. During the sessions, SM suggests items worthy of discussions and hosts the whole process.
Facebook Manager
The Facebook Manager (FM) manages the social media accounts—such as Facebook and Instagram— of SSA. FM mainly updates notices to inform upcoming events. FM is also responsible for posting recent reviews of campus tours and promotion materials of SSA for affiliated members of Seoul National University for promotional purposes.
