The "Jaha pond" is a symbolic pond in Gwanak campus located right in front of the College of Humanities. The name ‘Jaha’ comes from a famous late Joseon Dynasty scholar called Shin-wi, and it means ‘violet mist’. It is an ideal place to sit and enjoy beautiful scenes according to the season. Many students enjoy their break time here. During the beginning of the new school year, students like to hold ‘jangtuh’ around the pond. It is an annual event in which student organizations sell food and drinks to fundraise for public purposes.
